Trellis, a new #Chicago spot to check out!

If you are looking for a warm atmosphere to gather with some friends, Trellis is a place to check out. Tucked in the corner of  Racine and a block north  of Fullerton in the Lincoln Park neighborhood you’ll find an unassuming new boutique wine & cocktail bar that will surprise you with the plethora of cocktails and wine options to provide warmth to any Chicago(nista) soul in this frigid weather we are currently experiencing.

But the warmth started from the welcoming Trellis staff that nicked off a little bit of the bitter cold in us. We were invited to come dine and check out the place and we’re more than excited to give them a try. First thing’s first – a Tempranillo wine to whet our appetite.

Our waitress suggested that we try the mussels served as an appetizer. The cocktail sauce that the mussels were bathing on was simply amazing!

Next on our appetizer picking was the Scallops with pancetta, creamy grits, and sherry brown butter. I was sad to finish it and wanted so badly to lick it off my plate.

The Kale & Radicchio salad was also recommended by our waitress. The salad is mixed with blood orange crouton,  Hidden Springs feta, and maple bourbon vinaigrette. It was a bit citrusy for my taste bud but my dinner companion loved the creaminess of the feta mixed with the citrus and even called it “just perfect”.

For the main entree we ordered Shaved Leg of Lamb sandwich with roasted peppers, mint, aioli, Ciabatta bread, and frites.

And the Pork Osso Bucco that melted in my mouth with goodness. The slowly braised pork shank was bathing in a pistachio gremolata and another new favorite for me!

All portions are sized generously and can be shared. Overall, Trellis is a great experience and one to revisit again.
