Rojo Gusano, an Upscale Mexican Restaurant to Check Out

I don’t venture much to the Ravenswood area for eating lately and glad to receive an invite to check out Rojo Gusano.

Rojo Gusano is an upscale Mexican restaurant that serves authentic and yet contemporary Mexican street food. We also noticed some subtle Asian vibe to the beautifully decored space like the Japanese slat walls, chopsticks on the table, and they even have Korean BBQ Tacos!

We first started with a trio Guacamoles: Spicey Seeds – Caramelized pineapple with chile, Pico De Gallo – Chicharron crumbs with chile serrano, and Fiery – Mango and habanero sauce with jicama and radish. Fiery was both our favorite. That habanero sauce complimented the Mango and jicama so nicely.

Then, we followed it with three different kind of tacos: Baja Fish, Korean BBQ, and Pork Belly. We enjoyed every last bite of it! I also ordered the Bloody Maria that made my tacos even more enjoyable.

For dessert, we tried the mini churros with my green tea and Nancy’s coffee. Just the perfect ending!

I also have to say that the place is gorgeous and perfect for parties — definitely an Instagram-worthy space to visit.
