One could not miss the old brown Reid, Murdoch & Co. Building as most call it the clock tower by Chicago River in between LaSalle and Clark if you were ever in the downtown area. Built in 1914, this Chicago Landmark, was once a grocery warehouse, a makeshift hospital, and even once a City of Chicago office housing traffic courts, the State Attorney’s Office, and other departments.
Today, it’s a beautiful and modern Whirlpool Headquarters that showcases their Whirlpool and Maytag‘s newest appliances inside a nearly 30,000-square-foot facility with demo kitchens, laundry showrooms, and where most of the training happen. I was excited to revisit the space once again and see what should be on my drool list of new house appliances.
One of the newest house appliances that I instantly fell in love with while visiting was the 36-inch wide French door refrigerator by Whirlpool. It was calling my name as soon as my eyes landed on its unique shelving system. The perfect design for families! No more looking through for bottles settled all the way in the back of the fridge. The shelvings are also adjustable and have spaces for even the littlest things my family store like ketchup packets. Everything is easy to find and can fit big party trays. Not to mention the stain resistant doors!
Besides the refrigerator, we also viewed the newest Maytag washer and dryer. Known for powerful machines, they even shared a before and after a wash on heavily stained clothes. Built with an internal heater for extra cleaning action and a dispenser to release the right amount of detergent at the right time. My favorite part is the Fresh Hold option. An internal fan will keep circulating the air while the machine intermittently tumbles for up to 12 hours after the wash cycle ends. No more worries if just in case you forget to move your washed clothes into the dryer. Another winner for my family!
All of the items above will be available on the market by August 2016.
