My host DoubleTree Chongqing North arranged a visit in the Ciqikou (See-Chee-Kou) Ancient Village where still lies the courtyard of the Zhong Family built in the Qing Dynasty over 120 years ago. Zhong Yunting is a royal servant of Empress Dowager Cixi and he was in charge of purchasing goods for the imperial court. Royal servants are revered men who are also very rich. They are able to build homes such as this one. Originally there were 2 courtyards and a total of 46 rooms but this is the only one that were preserved with about 20 rooms.
