Even if you do not live near the Old Town Clubhouse or the SoNo Drucker Center, you should look into the programs for children Junior Kindergarten age and older at the Menonomee Club.

I have never been so impressed with an organization and we have taken many of the usual classes out there. MC is anything but typical. Our first experience was with Grand Master Kidd who shares his humor and wisdom with the Taekwondo groups including my son’s Little Ninjas Class for ages 3 and up. Ask any parent, the class is as entertaining for us as it is for the child. The kids sing their Ninja Creed, learn ways to build self discipline and focus on athletic endurance. All in an environment that boosts self esteem and presents challenges in a competitive but friendly way. Aside from looking so cute in their little gi, they also work towards getting their white belt, then orange and so on. Outstanding!

My youngest attends Miss Lori’s CAMPUS at the Drucker Center. If you have not encountered Miss Lori from PBS Kids in the morning, than you are missing out on a progressive minded, activity inspired, gifted entertainer and enthusiast. When we saw Miss Lori at the Green Apple Festival this spring, my kids almost fell over when she greeted them by name. She has an amazing talent for making each child understand that they are important and special. Especially if your child has an affinity for performance, check out her CAMPUS Kids programs. You will wish you were young again!

From January, the Clubhouse has opened for JK as well as the older kids before their scheduled classes during the weekdays. My oldest goes early before his Tumbling Classes with Miss Jamie to eat a snack and play with the kids. It is a great chance for the kids to socialize and hang out with their buddies before they focus on class. You’d think the kids would go nuts in such an interactive space with foosball tables, air hockey, pinball machines and every game under the sun, but they remain very respectful and very cooperative. I give credit and many thanks to the dedicated staff that have been working with the Club for years instilling good values and the love of learning.

No matter what activity your child is into from Basketball to Chess to Painting and Science, Menomonee Club has it. Click here to browse through their programs that provide benefits lasting a lifetime.
