M&M’s is launching a new personalized shimmer collection and teamed up with Bachelorette Jen Schefft who is using them to customize her upcoming wedding and I had a chance to speak with her one on one.

Yes, I did say wedding! Chicagoan Jen Schefft, who is well known as a star of  the Bachelor and Bachelorette reality series, is getting married. And only after 2 popular TV shows in hopes to find her love and life match did she finally find “the guy” who happens to be just in her own neck of the woods. Jen Schefft is engaged to another Chicagoan Joe Waterman and they are set to marry here in Chicago this spring.

I asked her, why in Chicago? I mean after all, her successful TV stint and co-hosting awards and shows, one can imagine of flying off to Paris or somewhere exotic for an ultra glamorous wedding. But they simply chose Chicago. It is their home and where their closest friends and families live. And that is after all what is most important.

In 2007 Ms. Schefft also penned a book called “Better Single Than Sorry” as a tool and guide for single women out there. So this made me think that Joe Waterman must be a pretty special guy. And she of course agreed. “He makes me laugh and is a really good guy” is how she described him.

We then continued the conversation with more wedding details. They are expecting 100 guests and her personalized shimmer collection M&Ms will be in pearl and platinum colors printed with their picture and names. Her bridesmaids are wearing black and pink and her wedding cake will be made by Sarah’s Pastries & Candies.

What’s next with Jen Schefft? Well the honeymoon of course! They’ll be flying for some alohas on the island of Maui. And that’s when we concluded our conversation and I bid her thanks  for giving me a few minutes to chat with her and of course a big congratulations on her upcoming wedding.  If I have to sum up Ms. Schefft with one word, then I would say “classy.”

M&Ms would also like to give one of our readers a chance to try the personalized shimmer collection M&Ms. So please leave a comment below and we will randomly choose and contact the winner by April 10th.
