CA Family Studio Sunday – Spooky City!
DATE: Sunday, October 19 from 11am to 3pm
LOCATION:  Santa Fe Building, 224 South Michigan Avenue
COST:  Free, registration is not required. 

“Get a jump start on Halloween. Drop by the Chicago Architecture Foundation headquarters to create your own building-inspired costume and make & take a spooky skyline trick or treat bag. Take a walk around the block with our volunteers to get some inspiration for designing your costume. Try your hand at building a haunted house or the city’s skyline out of Kapla blocks. Get your picture taken wearing the building costumes you designed or one of our city costumes designed by artist, Dennis Wise.”

25th annual Chicago International Children’s Film Festival!
DATE: October 23 – November 2, 2008
COST:  General Admission $6.00 for children (3-16) and $8.00 for adults.

Young Inventor Challege – Calling All Kids!
Event : Saturday Nov. 22, 2008  
Location: Navy Pier @ The Chicago Toy and Game Fair
Deadline on Entry Form – October 31, 2008
Cost: $15.00 submission fee

“Students age 18 and younger may enter original game and toy inventions to be judged by popular vote and win great prizes! This is a great opportunity for your children to show what their minds are capable of. A fun and educational opportunity for every child that participates.”

Creatures of the Night
Saturday October 25th, 2008 12-3 pm
LOCATION: Garfield Park Conservatory , 300 N. Central Park Avenue
COST: Free
“This special Halloween–themed event is a unique take on the season. Night dwelling animals have special adaptations, or “tricks,” that help them roam in the dark. Come visit us at the conservatory, when live nocturnal animals, like fruit bats, spiders, owls, and more, make a rare daytime greenhouse appearance. Children and families can “learn an adaptation trick, and get a treat” at each of these special critter stations. Other fun activities include spider plantings, grow in the dark necklaces, bat origami, and more!”

Haunted Village 
DATE: October 17-31, 2008
Opening Night October 17 @ 5pm with two performances from Midnight Circus.
LOCATION: Franken (Daley) Plaza
COST: Free

“The Haunted Village continues through Halloween with hours of Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please note: Extended hours for Friday, October 31 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.”

The State Street Halloween Happening Parade
Saturday, October 25 – 12:00 pm
LOCATION: starts off at the corner of State and Randolph streets
COST: Free

“Kids can join in the on the fun by marching in costume as part of The State Street Halloween Happening Parade.   Following the parade, kids can enjoy trick-or-treating, a performance by Midnight Circus and a costume contest—all at Pumpkin (Daley) Plaza.”
