December 8, 2008 – Santa’s agent has been keeping him super busy with many public appearances throughout the suburbs.  Be sure to stop by one of these events and let Santa know he’s doing a good job – and that he should get some rest soon!

Tomorrow night the big fellow will be leading a parade in Itasca.  The parade begins at 6:00pm at Franzen school.  Other activities for the evening include live reindeer, horse drawn sleigh rides, ice sculture demonstrations, and trolly rides.  Carolers will be providing entertainment and snacks, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided.  Click Yorktown Shopping Center in Lombard, Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale, and Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.  Santa is available during mall hours at the Yorktown Shopping Center.  You can visit Santa from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Sundays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Christmas Eve at Stratford Square Mall.  He is available from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m . to 6  p.m. Sundays, now through Dec. 23, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 24. at Woodfield Mall.  Photos can be purchased at all locations, but Woodfield Mall is the only location that encourages private cameras and video recorders.

If you’re looking for a more unique visit with Santa I’d love to suggest visiting one of his little houses.  The jolly old man has two little house in the ‘burbs – one in Downtown Downers Grove and the other on the Riverwalk in Naperville.

He can be found in Naperville at the corner of Jackson Ave. and Webster St.  on Fridays from 5pm – 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from noon – 6pm from now until December 21st.  As Christmas gets closer he’ll be spending more time at his Naperville home visiting Monday – Thursday the week of December 15th from 5pm – 8pm.  You can purchase photos: one for $8 or two for $15.  Admission is free.  Click here for more information.

If you prefer to take your own pictures of the event, visit Santa at his Downers Grove location.  Santa will be near the corner of Main St. and Curtiss St. on December 13th and 2oth from 11am – 3pm and on December 11th and the 18th from 5:30pm – 8pm.  There are no photos for you to purchase at this location and you are encouraged to bring your own camera!  For more information click here.

If you’ve got a four-legged child (dog or cat) that has been pestering you to go see Santa you have a few options available to you.  Santa will be welcoming domestic animals at the Yorktown Center (in Lombard) on December 14th from 7:15-9:00pm.  Please click here for more information and guidelines for bringing your pet into the mall.  Somehow, Santa will be at all PetSmart locations every weekend until Christmas from 11am-4pm.  For $9.95 you will receive a digital photo of your pet with Santa and a frame.  In addition, $5 of every photo package will be donated to local adoption partners.

I’m sure you’re wondering just how Santa manages to be everywhere and still get ready for his busiest night of the year.  And the answer is just one word. Magic.
