December 5, 2008 – I always try to do my part to convince people of how awesome the south suburbs are. Now it seems Santa Claus thinks so too because he’s making back-to-back stops in Homewood and Flossmoor this weekend!

Santa Claus arrives in Homewood tonight as part of the Holiday Lights in Homewood festival. There are trolley rides for downtown shopping all evening, along with a tree-lighting ceremony and hot cocoa in the park at 6:30pm. Then stroll down the charming streets of Homewood to see holiday displays and meet up with Santa at 7:30pm.

Santa and his reindeer will spend the evening in the south ‘burbs so they will be well-rested for their appearance in neighboring Flossmoor on Saturday, Dec. 6. Flossmoor Winterfest is an all-day event featuring cookies, carols, and even beer and chocolate tastings at the famous Flossmoor Station restaurant. Santa arrives on a Flossmoor firetruck at 5:15pm and heads over to the Flossmoor Library for a community holiday party that also includes cupcake decorating and crafts.

From the North Pole to the South ‘Burbs, you can feel the holiday spirit!
