The 2012 Lunar New Year Parade celebrating the Year of the DRAGON 4710 will include marching bands, floats, lions teams, a mystical dragon, and Miss Friendship Ambassador. Please join us to welcome the New Year as we convey GUNG HEI FAT CHOI to all in attendance! This year’s parade also kicks off celebrations of the Chinatown Centennial 1912-2012! Parade step-off time is 1:00PM but there are other activities starting as early as 11:30AM.

Use decorative papers to make images of animals inspired by the exhibition Animals around the World: Picture Books by Steve Jenkins. This is a drop-in program and registration is not required.
This program is designed for families with children.

Breathe, stretch, relax, and discover your inner balance and serenity in a new program. This workshop includes an introductory yoga class in which you will learn traditional yoga poses such as lion, tree, and warrior, as well as poses inspired by a guided gallery visit.
Yoga and Art Workshops are $25 for one adult and one child plus $10 for each additional person. The program fee includes museum admission.

Listen to a story about shapes and then head to the galleries to find squares, circles, triangles, and more! Afterwards, use your favorite shapes to create a work of art.
This program meets in the Ryan Education Center and travels to the galleries. Please bring your Art Institute member card or museum admission tickets. All children must be accompanied by an adult companion.
