The Art Institute of Chicago has a school associated with its museum, and they offer non-credit courses for young children through their teens. They also offer tuition waivers and discounted rates for select students.

I am including the locations of three area art supply stores. All the locations have age appropriate materials and lesson plans with which to work. Any home-schooled children will find amazing materials to work with.
