donutNeed a break from kitchen duty? Why not grab the girls and let Juicy-O’s Pancake House in Downers Grove pamper you with a wholesome breakfast like mom used to make? Starting the day out with some deliciously rich coffee, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes and girl talk with the best of friends always seems to make the day a little brighter. So go ahead, take some time to stop and smell and the doughnuts!

Juicy-O’s Pancake House is located off the beaten path in Downers Grove. Near Butterfield Road, it is in the heart of a long strip mall. But don’t let the location or the outside appearance fool you: With its tantalizing menu of hearty offerings, Juicy-O’s is well worth the drive. Co-owned by Jimmy Bannos, chef and owner of the cajun-inspired Heaven on Seven, Juicy-O’s delivers flavorful, fresh food that’s a step up from standard breakfast fare. Co-owner Jimmy Banakis greets customers most days.
While waiting for your table in Juicy-O’s outer alcove, it is easy to entertain yourself with humor from the gallery of nostalgic and sometimes offbeat quotes lining the walls.  Reading the endless sea of framed selections can be addictive. You may just find yourself wanting to try and read each and every one.
You will be greeted at your table with a bowl of Juicy-O’s fresh, hot homemade cinnamon sugar doughnuts.  Not only are they delicious, they are “free”.
While the doughnuts are a star attraction (especially where kids are concerned), Juicy-O’s also makes their own thick homemade yogurt, homemade granola, and fruit pancake flights. The rest of the menu offers a rich variety of fare: country fresh egg dishes, large fluffy omelettes, frittatas, skillet breakfasts, Belgian waffles, buttered pancakes, delectable crepes, and stuffed french toast. If you’re in the mood for a fruity beverage, try one of their bubble teas or a drink from their juice bar.
Juicy-O’s Pancake House is located at 2942 Finley Road, Downers Grove. Tel.(630)932-4260. Reservations can be taken by phone for parties of 5 or more. The hours of operation are: 6am to 3pm Monday thru Saturday and 7am to 3pm on Sunday.
