Five New Cars to see at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show

| February 15, 2010 | 0 Comments

The 2010 Chicago Auto Show can be a daunting exercise in information overload.  Before your eyes start to water from the sea of glittering chrome and your feet ache from too many laps around the 1.2 million square feet floor, consult this guide of Five Production Debut Cars to Watch.  All are expected in dealerships this year.

ChevyVoltGreen:  Chevy Volt
Delivery: late 2010
Unlike a hybrid, the Volt runs solely on an electric battery for 40 miles, then sips on its fuel reserves for up to an additional 300 miles.  Charging can be done on a standard household outlet, and for city dwellers, General Motors is currently working with ComEd and the Illinois Commerce Commission to develop charging stations. Bonus for techies: the Volt comes with its own smartphone app which monitors battery level and can even be used for remote start!

Fiat500Subcompact:  Fiat 500
Delivery: late 2010
If you find the MINI too expensive and the Smart too tiny, take a look at the Fiat 500.  This runabout city car will be the first of several Fiat products sold in the US.

HondaOdysseyMinivan:  Honda Odyssey
Delivery: late 2010
It’s the family van, reinvented!  With angular lines and a signature “lightening bolt” design on the side, the new Odyssey is a far cry from your mama’s (or maybe even your) minivan.

BuickRegalSports Sedan:  Buick Regal
Delivery: mid 2010
Developed in Germany, the Regal is a breakthrough for Buick.  No longer the maker of yacht-like grandpa cars, Buick has taken a bold new direction in recent years, and the Regal pushes that envelope with sleek styling, luxury options, and European handling.

InfinitiMLuxury Sedan:  Infiniti M
Delivery: Spring 2010
For power, luxury, and gracious styling, look to the all-new Infiniti M series.  Available in both M56 and M37 designations, this is the third-generation of the lauded M.
